FAQ

Still have questions?

1. How much does it cost to ship cargo from China to Kazakhstan?

The cost depends on four key parameters: cargo weight and volume, route, mode of transport, and delivery time. There is no fixed rate — the freight market changes weekly.

For reference: the cost of shipping a container by sea from Shanghai to Almaty varies depending on the season and port congestion. Rail transport via Kazakhstan may sometimes be more expensive but can be 10–15 days faster. Air freight is the most expensive option and is only justified for urgent or high-margin goods.

We provide an accurate quote within one business day after receiving the cargo details.

2. How long does delivery from China and Europe take?

Transit times depend on the route and transport mode.

Current estimates:

China → Kazakhstan
  • Sea + road — 20–30 days
  • Rail — 15–30 days
  • Direct road — от 7-25 days

Europe → Kazakhstan
  • Road — 10–15 days
  • Rail — 15–25 days

CIS
  • Road — 3–10 days, rail — 7–15 days (depending on the country)

These timelines include customs clearance and transshipment. Customs delays are the most common source of disruption, which is why we supervise every clearance process directly.

3. What is transshipment and why is it needed?

Transshipment is the transfer of cargo from a sea container to another mode of transport (most often trucks) at an intermediate point, usually a port or terminal.

It is beneficial for two reasons:
First — cost savings on container returns: there is no need to deliver the container to the final destination and send it back.
Second — flexibility: trucks can reach locations that container vessels cannot.

Properly organized transshipment can reduce costs by 15–20% compared to direct container delivery to the warehouse.

4. How do you transport oversized or heavy cargo?

Oversized cargo exceeds standard transport dimensions:
Length over 13.6 m
Width over 2.55 m
Height over 4 m
Or weight exceeding 20 tons per axle

Such cargo requires special permits in each transit country, often including escort requirements.

We handle permits, select appropriate equipment (low-bed trailers, platforms), and arrange escorts when necessary. We have had no refusals due to bureaucracy — we simply provide realistic timelines upfront.

5. What is an HS code and why is it important for imports?

The HS code (Harmonized System) is an international classification system for goods. Each product is assigned a code that determines customs duties and VAT.

An incorrect code is one of the most expensive mistakes: cargo may be delayed, fines imposed, or even confiscated. The difference between similar codes can be 5–20% in duties.

We perform pre-classification before shipment so you know the exact customs costs in advance.

6. Do you work with individuals or only companies?

We work only with legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. This is not a limitation but a requirement: international logistics involves documents that individuals typically cannot provide — contracts, invoices, packing lists, and import permits.

If you are just starting a business, you can contact us in advance — we’ll guide you on how to prepare for your first shipment.

7. What happens if cargo is delayed at customs?

Customs delays are manageable if documentation is prepared correctly. Most delays occur due to errors in declarations, incorrect HS codes, or incomplete documentation.

We prepare and verify all documents in advance. If a delay occurs, your manager gets involved the same day, contacts the broker and customs authorities, and keeps you informed.

You won’t learn about problems after the fact — we inform you immediately with a clear action plan.

8. How can I track my cargo?

We do not offer a map-based tracking dashboard — intentionally. Automated tracking is often inaccurate in multimodal logistics due to lack of synchronization between carriers.

Instead, you receive real updates from your manager at key milestones: Departure, arrival at transshipment port, border crossing, final delivery. If anything changes between these stages — you’ll be the first to know.

Communication via WhatsApp, email, or phone — your choice.

9. Is cargo insurance necessary for international shipping?

Legally — not required. Practically — without insurance, the risk is yours. Carrier liability under international conventions is limited and rarely covers the full value of goods.

Insurance covers not only major accidents but also damage, theft, and delays. For cargo valued at $10,000+, insurance typically costs 0.1–0.3% — a reasonable price for peace of mind.

We help arrange insurance tailored to your cargo and route.

10. What makes you different from other freight forwarders?

Honestly, basic services — moving cargo from point A to point B — are offered by many companies. The difference shows in complex situations.

Three things we do differently:

First — one manager handles your shipment from request to delivery.

Second — we specialize in oversized and multimodal logistics instead of outsourcing them.

Third — we commit to timelines in writing, not just verbally.

The best way to compare is to request a quote and review not only the price but also the contract terms.
